Vintage Marmoucha | Blair

173cm x 336cm (5'8" x 11')

100% wool

High pile

Age : 40-45 years old

This classic beauty from the Marmoucha tribe has a background of natural cream wool with a diamond pattern that changes from a dark caramel brown to more of a taupe tone in areas. The details of this piece really make it special-like the tufts on each end, the thin double stripe on the borders, and the subtle break in the diamond pattern seen at the bottom of the rug.

The Marmoucha tribe is highly regarded in the rug world for both attention to detail and use of the finest wool, this piece exceeds even those expectations. While it has remained quite plush, there is a beautiful patina and worn feeling to the wool that has made it even softer over the years. This speaks to the quality of the wool, and the incredible care with which it was made. Made to last a lifetime, and it will do just that.

Vintage Berber rugs were not made for production, but as functional pieces to be used for many years and passed down through generations. The colors and patterns are a combination of traditional Berber symbolism and the personal expressions of the woman who made it. These pieces can show signs of wear which adds to their character and beauty, while telling a story about where they were before June + Blue.

All rugs are cleaned, and any repairs needed are done in Morocco before shipment.
