Vintage Talsint Runner
81 cm x 213 cm ( 2'8" x 7')
Pile: 100% wool
Age: approximately 25 years
This runner from the Talsint region features a cream background with a tan, dark brown and warm gray/oatmeal colored pattern. Near each of the corners you can see an animal outlined in the design. They are likely Moroccan "Dorcas" gazelles, which are native to the region of the Atlas mountains where this rug originates from.
Vintage Berber rugs were not made for production, but as functional pieces to be used for many years and passed down through generations. The colors and patterns are a combination of traditional Berber symbolism and the personal expressions of the woman who made it. These pieces can show signs of wear which adds to their beauty and character, while telling a story about where they were before June + Blue.
All rugs are cleaned, and any repairs needed are done in Morocco before shipment.
Taxes included where applicable. All rug sales final. Please see our about our textiles page for additional information.
